Terms of Service

Last Updated: March 9, 2026

Welcome to TryBreathing.org. By accessing our website, directory, practice tools, or user dashboard, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the platform.

1. Medical Disclaimer

TryBreathing.org is an educational and digital pacing tool, not a medical provider. The content, protocols, assessments (including BOLT and Resonance Frequency), and AI-generated feedback provided on this platform are for informational purposes only.

The information provided is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.

Breathwork, especially techniques involving breath holds (apnea), hyperventilation, or deep resistance training, can profoundly affect heart rate, blood pressure, and brain chemistry. Do not practice advanced techniques if you have a history of cardiovascular disease, severe asthma, COPD, epilepsy, or if you are pregnant, without explicit clearance from a medical professional. Never practice breath holds in or near water, or while driving.

2. Description of Service

TryBreathing provides a free, open-source directory of clinical breathing techniques, interactive pacing tools (the "Orb"), biological baseline assessments, and a user dashboard to track practice history and physiological metrics. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time.

3. AI-Generated Feedback

Our platform utilizes artificial intelligence (Google Gemini) to analyze your assessment inputs (such as BOLT score, stress levels, and habits) to generate personalized protocol recommendations. While we provide strict clinical frameworks for the AI to follow, AI can make mistakes or generate inaccurate conclusions. You are responsible for reviewing AI recommendations with common sense and consulting a medical professional before beginning any new respiratory protocol.

4. Clinical Review Board & "Verified" Badges

TryBreathing allows licensed clinicians to volunteer to peer-review techniques for physiological accuracy.

  • A "Verified" badge means a member of our community who holds stated medical credentials has reviewed the general mechanics and contraindications of the technique.
  • A "Verified" badge does not guarantee the safety of the technique for your specific, individual health circumstances.
  • Clinicians volunteering on our board are acting independently and are not establishing a doctor-patient relationship with you.

5. User Accounts & Data

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information regarding your age, health status, and goals. You may delete your account and all associated biometric data at any time. Refer to our Privacy Policy for details on data handling.

6. Sponsorships & Donations

Donations: Contributions made via "Buy Me a Coffee" or similar platforms are voluntary, non-refundable gifts to support the maintenance of the platform. They do not purchase equity or influence over the platform.

Ethical Sponsorships: Brands may pay a monthly fee ($25/mo) to be listed as sponsors in our directory. TryBreathing reserves the right to reject or cancel any sponsorship that does not align with our clinical and ethical standards (e.g., rejecting pseudoscientific products). Sponsorships are billed via third-party processors, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

7. Affiliate Disclosure

To help fund our servers and keep the platform free, TryBreathing participates in affiliate marketing programs (such as the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program). If you click a "Clinical Toolkit" link or a product recommendation (e.g., /go/powerbreathe) and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at absolutely no additional cost to you. We only link to tools and literature that we believe provide genuine clinical value.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TryBreathing.org and its developers, clinical reviewers, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or personal injury damages arising from your use of the platform, your practice of the listed breathing techniques, or your reliance on any information provided on the site.
